Changed Paper defaults
FeatherMC changes one group of Paper’s defaults: the per-chunk save limits for six projectile and orb types. This is what stops the classic “stuff a chunk until it crashes on load” machine from surviving a restart, and normal play never gets near the limits. The new defaults only apply to keys that are not already in your config, so a server migrated from Paper keeps its existing values until you change them.
Key in paper-world-defaults.yml | Paper | FeatherMC |
|---|---|---|
chunks.entity-per-chunk-save-limit.arrow | -1 | 16 |
chunks.entity-per-chunk-save-limit.ender_pearl | -1 | 16 |
chunks.entity-per-chunk-save-limit.experience_orb | -1 | 16 |
chunks.entity-per-chunk-save-limit.fireball | -1 | 16 |
chunks.entity-per-chunk-save-limit.small_fireball | -1 | 16 |
chunks.entity-per-chunk-save-limit.snowball | -1 | 16 |
You can override any of these per world in paper-world-defaults.yml.
Left at Paper’s default
Section titled “Left at Paper’s default”FeatherMC does not turn on entities.behavior.inactive-mob-goal-selector-throttle-rate. Enabling it bunches the goal-selector work of far-away mobs into periodic bursts, which raises the worst-case tick time. That trades tick smoothness for lower average CPU, so turn it on only if you run a mob-heavy server and want that trade.
